MediaTek recently announced the new Dimensity 7050 chipset which is said to be a rebranded version of the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 that launched last year. The Dimensity 7050 is built on 6nm architecture same as the Dimensity 1080 and paired with the 2 x ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.6GHz, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU.
Furthermore, MediaTek’s Dimensity 7050 chipset supports up to 200MP camera sensors and records video up to 4K at 30FPS. In terms of connectivity, the chipset offers Dual 5G, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth V5.2 connectivity options. It supports up to 120Hz 2520 x 1080px resolution displays.
The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset will first debut on the Lava Agni 2 5G smartphone in India soon, though we don’t yet know the exact launch timeframe for the device. And the chipset will be available for global markets probably from Q2, 2023.
