Lava has officially unveiled the Lava Agni 2 5G smartphone in India. The Agni 2 is Lava’s first smartphone to come with MediaTek chipsets. On paper, the smartphone holds solid specs and comes at a very affordable price.
The Lava Agni comes in a sole 8GB + 256GB variant and is priced at ₹21,999. The smartphone but as part of the launch offer, the smartphone will available for ₹19,999. The smartphone is now available via Amazon in India.
Lava Agni 2 5G smartphone sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED 3D dual curve display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 950 nits of peak brightness, HDR10+ support, and features an In-display fingerprint sensor. Regarding design, the Agni 2 5G has a circular-shaped Quad camera module with a 50MP primary camera sensor and it features a 16MP selfie camera.
Lava Agni 2 5G is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 7050 chipset based on 6nm architecture. It packs up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The smartphone runs on the latest Android 13 OS and offers a clean bloatware-free Android experience. Lava promises 2 years of major OS updates (up to Android 15) and 3 years of security patch updates for the Lava Agni 2 smartphone. The smartphone is backed by a 4700mAh battery with 66W fast charging support. Lava claims that the smartphone charges 0 top 50% in just 16 mins.
MediaTek recently announced the new Dimensity 7050 chipset, a rebranded version of the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 launched last year. The Dimensity 7050 is built on 6nm architecture same as the Dimensity 1080 and paired with the 2 x ARM Cortex-A78 performance cores clocked at 2.6GHz, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, and ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU.
Furthermore, MediaTek’s Dimensity 7050 chipset supports up to 200MP camera sensors and records video up to 4K at 30FPS. In terms of connectivity, the chipset offers Dual 5G, WiFi 6, and Bluetooth V5.2 connectivity options. It supports up to 120Hz 2520 x 1080px resolution displays.
