MediaTek unveiled new chipsets in the market- the Petonic 1000 (the newest flagship TV chipset with premium features support) and the kompanio 520 and 528 Chipsets (for entry-level Chromebooks that will offer a faster and more reliable computing experience).

The chipset is specially designed for 4K TVs and offers a 120Hz refresh rate with HDR content, Multicores CPU, dual cores GPU, VVC decoding, up to 144Hz for gaming, and Dolby Vision IQ with a detailed viewing experience.

MediaTek’s latest Pentonic 1000 chip specially designed for 4K TVs offers a premium range of features. The Pentonic 1000 Chipset features include support for 4K resolution with a 120Hz refresh rate.
” We designed the MediaTek Pentonic 1000 specifically to accommodate today’s smart TV trends, including 4K streaming, cloud gaming, video conferencing, and watch parties,” said Alex Chen GM of the TV business unit at MediaTek.
MediaTek Pentonic 1000 chipset has a dedicated AI processing unit. The chipset offers a multicore CPU, dual-core GPU, and Video decoding engines. The Chipset has the support of up to 144Hz refresh rate and Auto low latency mode to enhance the gaming experiences.
Other features include Dolby Vision IQ, HDR 10+, 4K HDR content, 4K streaming, MEMC, and AI enhancements.
Talking about availability, MediaTek Pentonic 1000 Chipset integrated with TVs will be available starting from the next year 2023. The next year 2023, we get to see lots of TVs powered with MediaTek Pentonic 1000 chipset from popular TV brands like Samsung, HCL, LG, Sony, and others.

Along with MediaTek Pentonic 1000 chipset, the company also introduced the latest Kompanio 520 and 528 chipset for the entry-level Chromebooks that will offer a better computing experience.

The kompanio 520 and 528 chipsets have Octa-core CPUs with two Cortex-A76 CPUs, offering notably smoother and more responsive performance. The chipset allows device manufacturers to build Chromebooks with large 32MP cameras for highly detailed image capturing.
Both chipsets have dual-core AI processing units to deliver accelerated AI enhancements to applications, along with AI camera features. For fast, stable, and reliable connectivity, the chipsets have WiFi 6 support.
According to the MediaTek official report, Chromebooks powered by the Kompanio 520 and Kompanio 528 chipsets will be available in the market by the first quarter of 2023.
