Vivo has launched the Vivo Y78+ 5G smartphone in the Chinese market. This is the Vivo’s first ever Y series smartphone to come up with a curved edge display. The device offers noteworthy features, such as a curved-edge OLED panel, snapdragon 6-series chipset, dual rear camera setup, and whole much more. Let’s dive into the details.
The Vivo Y78+ 5G smartphone sports a 6.78-inch FHD+ OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits of peak brightness, and a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The smartphone features a dual rear camera setup at the back with a 50MP primary camera with OIS support joined by a 2MP macro lens. It has an 8MP snapper at the front for selfies.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y78+ 5G is powered by a Snapdragon 695 processor paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR4x RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.2 internal storage. The smartphone runs on Android 13 based on Origin OS 3 UI out of the box. The Vivo Y78+ 5G is backed by a 4,500mAH battery with 44W fast charging support. It weighs just 177 grams and is 7.89mm thick.
The Vivo Y78+ 5G smartphone comes in three configurations- the base 8/128GB variant retails at ¥1,599 (~$232), the 8/256GB model starts at ¥1,799 (~$261), and the top 12/256GB variant is priced at ¥1,999 (~$290) respectively. It comes in Moon Shadow Black, Sky Blue, and Warm Sun Gold color options. The Vivo Y78+ 5G smartphone will go on sale starting April 26 in China. Vivo hasn’t confirmed yet the global availability of the smartphone.
