Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi unveiled the latest Redmi Note 12 series smartphones in China. Redmi Note 12 series smartphones are comprised of Redmi Note 12, Redmi Note 12 Pro, Note 12 Pro+, and Redmi Note 12 Explorer edition. All the Note 12 series smartphones are powered by MediaTek’s newly launched Dimensity 1080 chipset.
We get to see two massive changes with these Note 12 series smartphones. The first one is, Redmi Note 12 Pro+, and Redmi Note 12 Explorer edition smartphone is the brand’s first smartphone to come up with a 200MP lens. Redmi also has some competitors in the market who features a 200MP Camera setup- Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Xiaomi 12T Pro, and Infinix Zero Ultra.
And the second and most unexpected change is, Redmi is the first brand in the smartphone industry that introduced whooping 210W fast charging in the smartphone, before Redmi, Infinix Zero Ultra was the only smartphone in the industry that come up with 180W fast charging. With the 210W fast charging speed, the device charges 0-100% in just 9 minutes.
But there is a catch, The Company hasn’t disclosed the global or Indian market availability of the Note 12 Phones with 210W fast charging. Seems like Redmi has no plan to announce the Redmi Note 12 Explorer smartphone outside China.
Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition smartphone flaunts a 6.67-inch FHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, up to 900 nits of peak brightness, a 20:9 aspect ratio, and a 240Hz touch sampling rate. The panel has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support.
In terms of optics, the smartphone features a triple rear camera setup with a 200MP Samsung HPX primary camera with OIS support joined by an 8MP ultrawide angle camera and a 2MP macro camera. It has a 16MP front camera for selfies and video chats.
Under the hood, Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition is powered by MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset paired with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It packs a 4,300mAh battery with 210W fast charging support. The company claims that the smartphone charges o to 100 percent in just 9 minutes.
Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC, and USB type C port for charging and data transfers.
Redmi Note 12 Explorer Edition retails at ¥ 2,400 (roughly ₹27,248/$330/ €330) and will go for sale from October 31 in China.
